Retirees

Every Once in a while we a dog that actually needs a new home.
This can be for a variety of reasons but as time goes on it becomes clear that they would prefer a different environment, a different life that just suits them better.
Most of our breeding dogs live long comfortable lives in their guardian homes and that doesn't change after they retire from breeding. For the few that stay with us it sometimes becomes obvious that its best if we allow them to go to a loving family that is prepared and deserving of a well loved, well trained dog that just needs something different.

It is important to us that we are transparent with our retirees details because we KNOW this is a big change for them and if we help them go to a new home, it needs to be the one we feel confident they will not be shuffled from so...
Please read their entire description before applying!

River

River is a very loving loyal companion. She wants to be with you every minute of every day. She does not like being crated but if she has to be, she prefers to be alone. Not very interested in other dogs she is the most interested in her human! River loves to go on runs and is well mannered on a leash. She knows sit, stay, roll over, up, out, no and come. She is one of the smartest dogs we've ever had. She has so much potential to learn more!

River needs a home where it's ok if she can use her voice. She does bark at sounds and can be anxious if she has not had a chance to snuggle you that day. Because she is so loyal she will probably find it difficult to adjust to a new home, however we believe that even if it does take a few months, taking the time to help her into a new family will be worthwhile because she does not thrive or enjoy a pack setting.

River is a Pure Poodle. She is about 17lbs. she is quirky, adoring, loyal and brilliant. She knows how to tell you if she wants water or food. When she needs to go to the bathroom she literally twerks her bum against the hanging bell on the door.

FLIGHT: River does well with car rides but we don't want her to fly because she has long legs and tight enclosed spaces are very distressing for her. You need to be within driving distance of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

River will be spayed & recovered prior to her rehoming. This is a non-negotiable. We've brought her through a breeding career and it's only fair we help her recover from it gracefully and with the support of our veterinarian before she has to process any other changes.

Her rehoming fee will be $1,500 to cover spay/neuter & dental cleaning. If any difference remains after her procedure and recovery it will be returned to her new family.

River is in excellent health. She has had pancreatitis once & we believe it was because she snatched a whole cube of butter while nursing her puppies. It has not flared after her recovery treatment & return to regular dog food.

If you'd like to chat more please reach out. This is a hard decision to make but we are open to finding her dream life because she really deserves a world where she thrives and gets the constant one on one human attention she craves.

Please disregard price on the application as this does not apply to retirees. Make a note you are applying for River in the last question.
